General information only
The health information on this website explains common conditions and how physiotherapy may help. It is general and educational. It is not a diagnosis, and it can't take your individual situation into account.
Get assessed
Everyone's body and circumstances are different. A physiotherapist needs to assess you in person (or by video, where suitable) before advising on your condition. If you're unsure whether physiotherapy is right for you, ask your doctor or contact us.
Emergencies
This website is not for emergencies. Call 108 for an ambulance, or 112, or go to the nearest emergency department if you have chest pain, sudden weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, severe pain after an accident, or any other symptom that worries you.
Results vary
Physiotherapy can help many people, but results depend on the condition, the person and many other factors. We don't promise specific outcomes or timescales.
Exercises and self-care tips
General tips on this site are low-risk, but stop any activity that makes your pain clearly worse and seek advice. Follow the specific advice your physiotherapist or doctor gives you.
Medicines
We don't give advice about medicines on this website. Ask a doctor or pharmacist what is suitable for you.
Clinical review
Health pages on this site show who reviewed them and when. If you notice something that looks out of date, please let us know.
